Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp smoked paprika
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp onion powder
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp salt
- 4.5 lbs beef back ribs
- 1 cup BBQ sauce
- 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 tbsp honey
Instructions:
- Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs using a butter knife and paper towel to ensure the rub penetrates the meat.
- Coat the ribs generously on all sides with the mixture of brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt.
- Place the ribs on a large rimmed baking sheet and cover tightly with double-layered heavy-duty aluminum foil to create a pressurized steam chamber.
- Bake in the oven at 275°F (135°C) for 2.5 to 3 hours until the meat has retracted from the bone by approximately 1/2 inch.
- Remove the foil and brush the ribs with a mixture of BBQ sauce, apple cider vinegar, and honey.
- Set the oven to high broil and return the ribs for 3-5 minutes until the glaze is bubbling and charred mahogany.
- Allow the ribs to rest for 10 minutes before slicing to allow juices to redistribute.
