Ingredients:
- 1 tbsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1/2 tsp dried thyme
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Instructions:
- In a small bowl, whisk together the smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne, thyme, oregano, salt, and pepper.
- Pat the shrimp completely dry with paper towels.
- In a large bowl, toss the shrimp with melted butter and olive oil, then sprinkle the seasoning blend over them. Toss until every shrimp is evenly coated in a thick layer of spices.
- Place a cast iron skillet over medium-high to high heat until the pan is shimmering and just starting to wisp smoke.
- Add the shrimp in a single layer and press down lightly with a spatula for 2 minutes.
- Flip the shrimp and sear the second side for 1–2 minutes more. Remove immediately once they curl into a 'C' shape.
